High prominent cheekbones are one of the strongest hallmarks of beauty in our culture. They communicate a youthful, healthy look. A fullness of the cheeks indicates an abundance of healthy soft tissues and healthy fat under the skin.
Flat cheekbones can make a large nose look larger and a receding chin smaller. A deficient cheek structure can also make your face appear drawn and gaunt. It may give the appearance of heaviness in the lower face and an aged look of the under eye area. The cheekbones are largely responsible for defining your face, highlighting the eyes and adding balance to your features.
The aesthetic enhancement that cheek augmentation can provide. The simplicity of cheek surgery and the relatively low cost of cheek implants make them an especially attractive cosmetic solution. Moreover, the recovery period after chin implants is relatively short with many patients resuming normal activities within a few days.
Cheek augmentation is a cosmetic surgical procedure that is intended to emphasize the cheeks on a person’s face. To augment the cheeks, a plastic surgeon may place a solid implant over the cheekbone. Injections with the patients’ own fat or a soft tissue filler are also popular. Rarely, various cuts to the zygomatic bone (cheekbone) may be performed.
