Gynecomastia Surgery for Men

Update 16/09/2018

Many men experience excess fat in their breasts, also known as gynecomastia, giving them the appearance of having female-like breasts. This can be an embarrassing thing for a man, and if you have this excess fat, you may be considering having gynecomastia surgery to remove it. Before you do, however, there are a few things to consider.

One of the things you need to consider when it comes to gynecomastia surgery is the cost. It will likely be very expensive to have the surgery done, even considering that you are planning on having it done outside of the US. Plus, you have to consider the travel costs to get to Thailand in the first place. You may end up spending thousands of dollars to have the surgery done on top of the costs of traveling to Thailand. Therefore, before you commit to gynecomastia surgery, you should be sure that you have exhausted all other avenues and see no other way to remove your excess breast fat.

Another thing to consider is the recovery process. Recovery from gynecomastia surgery can be a long process, and a painful one, too. You will likely be on the shelf for a week or more after having the surgery done, so you need to be sure you are able to set aside a rather significant amount of time for the recovery period. You also need to decide if dealing with the pain is something you want to endure just to remove excess breast fat. You should also consider that there may be permanent scarring from the surgery. If this is something that you will be self-conscious about, you need to determine if it is outweighed by how self-conscious you are about having enlarged breasts.

The risks are another thing you need to consider before deciding on gynecomastia surgery. Some of the risks of having the surgery done include infection, permanent scarring (as discussed earlier), complications during the healing process that prevent you from healing correctly, changes in the sensations of the breasts that may be permanent, and severe pain. It's not a guarantee that you will experience any of these, but the risk is certainly there. It is up to you to decide if getting your excess breast fat removed is worth experiencing any and possibly all of these.
