Breast Augmentation Recovery

Update 16/09/2018

One of the procedures you can have done at Naravee Aesthetic Clinic is breast augmentation surgery. Once the surgery is completed, there will be a period of recovery, especially in the first few days immediately after the surgery. It is important to know certain things about the recovery to help in the healing process and avoid re-injury and infection.

The timeline for breast augmentation surgery recovery is typically a few weeks, but the first 24 to 48 hours after the surgery are when you should give yourself the most time to recover. Keep any physical activity to an absolute minimum for the first couple of days after the surgery. After that, you can begin some physical activities, but you should still be on a reduced activity schedule. Exercising is absolutely out of the question for the first few days, as the movements could severely hamper your recovery efforts. However, after a few days, you could begin implant displacement exercises. You should consult with your doctor about the types you should do, and when exactly you should begin them.

The first few days will probably swelling. You can place ice on the breasts to try and help reduce this. There may also be bruising and pain from your breasts. It will be important to keep up with any medications that your doctor prescribes to you, as not only can they help with the pain, but they may also help reduce any swelling you experience.

While it may be uncomfortable, you should generally hold off on bathing and showering for the first few days after the breast augmentation surgery. Getting the wounds wet while they are healing during those first few days could increase the risk of infection. After a few days, you can begin bathing and showering, though if you are showering, you should try to avoid having the water spraying directly on your breasts. Again, though, you should consult with your doctor for when exactly it is appropriate to begin bathing and showering again, though it is usually around 4 to 10 days after the surgery.
